Animal Hospital at Our House

Our ancient Yoko

Mom feels like she is working at a animal hospital right now - we have two sick kitties.  Yoko is 19 and has high normal readings for hyperthyroid for years and now has a UTI.  She is doing better but Mom worries about her cuz of her advanced age.  She is also getting sub c fluids along with Chica. You can see her fur is a mess - she has long since stopped grooming and it jsut mats up terribly.  Pop cuts it off or combs it out but she hates that.  It is hard to do anything for her without upsetting her.

Snowball napping

Our big mancat Snowball has had his third UTI in a few months but he is doing better now.  We think it is the stress of living with Al that is causing the problem so Al is separated from Snowball unless we are there to supervise.  Al and Snowball will fight and pick on each other.  We will have to see how this goes and then make some arrangement to build another  room for Al in our cat house.

Snowball's catmom Lily checks on him too.

So you see how busy Mom has been giving meds, fluids and checking on everyone else.  We hope to post more next week after things calm down. Wishing you all a super weekend.  Any big plans?

Oh Yoko, you are looking a little old. But there isn't anything wrong with that. We love your fur colors. We hope you get to feeling better. Also hope that Snowball feels better really soon too. Have a great evening.

We're sending Yoko and Chica (and everyone else too!) loud healing purrs and universal Light.

Poor Yoko does look a bit worse for the wear, but as long as she has quality of life, that's what matters.

(((Hugs)))

P.S. Hope the new computer is working out well for you!

We meant to purr for Snowball too, of course! Sorry, no oversight was intended, just our human not rereading what she wrote before she hit publish.

We're sorry Yoko and Snowball are not feeling well. We hope they are feeling better real soon!

Our Zoey has had 2 urinary episodes in the last month or so. The mom thinks they are stressed-induced as well. The vet suspects cystistis and has recommended that Zoey get canned foods...and with a little water added to it...to help keep those kidneys and bladder flushed out!

Purrs to all of you - your human must be stressed out by all this. I hope she does not start any inappropriate elimination - that would only add to your troubles.

Luckily, humans are not prone to that.

Awww, poor kitties!

It is hard when our fur babies get older.

Have you tried Rescue Remedy or Comfort Zone for Snowball's stress? Carmine was pretty stressed a little while ago and the Comfort Zone has really helped him out. We hope Snowball feels better soon; UTIs are painful :(

We are sending purrs and prayers for Yoko and for Snowball.

We are sending lots of purrs and prayers for Yoko, Chica and Snowball. And for Mom and dad, too.

We thought of you yesterday -- Tracey and I took the day off, and drove up to Mystic. Spent the day tooling around, and visiting the aquarium. :)

Hugs to you all.

What a great haven for felines...thank COD for peeps like you...and the outside structure sounds really nice and the cats are safe...so great. I am sad to learn that Yoko is unwell, but we know she is a very senior cat, purrayers for her. And Snowball must be uncomfortable with UTI problems, I had a bladder infection and it was very painful to pee...ugh! Paw pats to all, Savannah

We know exactly how your mom feels. Our human was in the same situation and had to handle it all alone.

Sending lots and lots of purrs your way! We love you!

Your furiends,

Precious babies. I'm so sorry. Could Yoko stand to be shaved? Her skin would no longer be so sensitive to touch. Mats pull and hurt as you know. xoxox
