Goodbye to Our Friend Cinders

Our friend Cinders from The Chair Speaks has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. She, like our Chica, had chronic renal failure but did well with the love and care of her EJ. We will miss you but know that now you are young, happy, healthy and watching over us all as the kitty angel you are. Please stop by to offer your condolences to EJ.

Making Biscuits - the Lazy Way

It's me Rosa and I want to show you how I make biscuits without even getting up!  I just stretch me legs whilw I nap and knead my catmom, Mamacita!

She's so busy grooming herself, she doesn't even notice me!  Isn't this a great technique?  Have you got a special way to make biscuits?

Mom has started a new blog to help pet bloggers find other pet bloggers who live in their states, countries or even just close by.  Stop by Pet Blogging Buddies and check it out.  We even have other countries on there too - if we don't have yours do tell us and we will add it. It is slow going to add each link and we appologize.  Mom still using a borrowed laptop and not doing real well with it!!! She will get it all done.

The Buddy System on Tabby Tuesday

Tabitha and Woody here today. We want to stress how important the buddy system is. Wikipedia describes the buddy system as  a procedure in which two people, the "buddies", operate together as a single unit so that they are able to monitor and help each other.

Woody and Iare best friends and take care of each other. Where one of us is, the other is not far behind.  We like it like that.

Our Mom's buddy Marg went missing this week cuz of a internet and phone problem. Everyone was worried about her but she was OK and did let someone know. Lots of our blogging buddies live alone and don't have family nearby. Mom thinks we need to set up a buddy system where each one of us pairs up with someone else that blogs.  It can be two bloggers who live close by, a new blogger and a seasoned one or just two bloggers who like to chat with each other.

We can do it officially if you want (Mom volunteers) or just find a fellow blogger you like and want to pair up with. Even if you have family, they may not know anything about your blog or your blog buddies and won't know how to reach all of us if something happened to you. Even if you don't live nearby, you can still help by knowing about their pets, emergency contacts and vet info, in case something happened.

Some ideas on how to do this -
  • Find a buddy
  • Decide how often you want to check in with each other especially if you don't post every day on your blog.
  • Exchange emails, phone numbers etc.
  • Exchange phone numbers and emails of an emergency contact.
  • Swap names of your pets, photos,  ages and special needs and vet contact info.

What do you all think about this idea and how would you like to see it set up?  Leave a comment or email Mom.  Thanks for being our blog buddies!

Mom went ahead and set up a blog just for people trying to find others in their area.  Go to Pet Blogging Buddies.

Tussle Tuesday With Norm and Snowball!

Snowball and Norm go at it quite a bit - all because Norm wants more attention from Snowball who would rather be left alone. Snowball gives Norm the whap and bitey here.

Norm whaps back!

Big bitey move from Snowball.

Things are getting serious now.  Snowball is pretty fed up - look at Snowball's ears!

Norm decides to call it quits!

Hope you enjoyed our Tuesday Tussle! Mom doesn't usually catch this much action on the flashy box! Who fights with who in your house?

Happy 4th and Staying Cool!

Darby here and all of us wish all our stateside friends a Happy 4th of July!

It has been a hot week for us and our younger white cats are housed in a separate building with a screen porch but no AC. They are in the shade and built into the hillside so stay pretty cool normally but with the temps in the upper 90s Pop had to help us stay cool.

We like to sit on the floor and keep cool. Pop hoses down the screen so the air blowing in cools us off. He also wets his hands with cool water and runs them over us - at first we didn't like it but it does feel good after a few times.

Only enjoying a cool bath.
Then Mom got the idea to fill a plastic tub with a few inches of cold water and ice cubes for us to play (and get cool in).  Only and Two Spot liked it.

Only gets his ice cube!
What have you done to stay cool this summer?

Sweet Chevelle of The Creek Cats Has Run to The Bridge

"To live in hearts
we leave behind is
not to die."
                                  - Thomas Campbell

We have sad news to share with you.  Our friend and fellow House Panther Chevelle has run off to the Bridge today. She was just 12 - too young to go.  Please stop by and offer words of comfort to her family at the Creek Cats.

Our 4th of July post will be posted later today.
