Forever Friday and Happy 4th!

Even tho June is over, we are still doing our Forever Fridays to help shelter cats find their forever homes. This week our poster cat is Shadow, a 1 year old Maine Coon mix neutered male from the Avery County Humane Shelter in Newland, NC.

*For one reason or another Shadow keeps coming back. Never his fault! Shadow has found his home twice and the families have had to bring him back due to lack of money or moving to a new location. Please help us find his forever home.*
UPDATE - Beatrice the cow cat from an earlier post was adopted since we ran the post! YAAAAAY!
And on a lighter note.....

Ivy says we wish you all a very happy, safe and fun Fourth of July!

In honor of our National Bird the Bald Eagle we have some fun trivia about them......

Did You Know?
Benjamin Franklin, John Adams & Thomas Jefferson served on the committee that picked the eagle for the national seal (Franklin wanted the turkey.)

Bald eagles have few natural enemies & live only in North America.

Bald eagles get their white head & tail feathers about 4-5 years of age.

The only other kind of eagle in North America is the golden eagle.

Bald eagles mate for life, but if one dies, the survivor will accept a new mate.

It is a felony to shoot an eagle.

Happy 4th Ya'll!

Me and Charlie love the trivia about the bald eagles (I like the idea of the turkey too! LOL!) but the eagles are fantastic birds and should be treasured!

We are purring for Shadow. We hope he finds a furrever home soon. He is beautiful!

Take care

Poor sweet Shadow, Maine Coons are so special, my late brother Ivan was a Maine Coon. I sure hope it works out for him soon. That was a great July 4th post too!

We purrs that Shadow gets a real furever home really Really soon.
Is so sad to tease a cat and tell him he has a home, then kicks him to the curb when you not wants anymore. It makes me mad... I'm just saying...

Have a happy and safe Independance day!

We are sending many purrs to Shadow! Dobby went through a similar situation before we adopted him and it is not fun. We are glad, though, that the people brought Shadow back to the shelter when they found that they could not care for him.

We hope you have a very happy 4th! We're also hoping that the fireworks and firecrackers aren't too loud around here - we wish the same for you.

We hopes Shadow finds a forever home soon. He is a very handsome mancat.

Just wanted to let you know we gots our prize and we are enjoying the cube and the treats to the max. Our bean will take pictures and post them eventually. We can barely drag her away from the weeding long enough to feed and pet us these days, much less get her to do post for us.
